Inventory (Camper Availability)
Type: System Setup (RNB Rental System)
Applies to: All Camper Hire Products
Purpose
Inventory defines how many campers of a specific type are available for hire.
It controls how many bookings can be made at the same time and prevents overbooking.
Examples:
- Eureka Camper → 3 available
- Fortescue Camper → 2 available
Important – Setup Order
Inventory must be created before setting up camper hire products.
Camper products rely on Inventory to manage availability.
Without inventory assigned, bookings cannot be calculated correctly.
What Inventory Does
- Controls how many bookings can be taken at the same time
- Prevents overbooking once all units are booked
- Links directly to the camper product
- Defines total available quantity per camper type
What Inventory Does NOT Do
- Does not display to customers
- Does not affect pricing
- Is not selectable by the customer
- Is not a service or add-on
Inventory is purely used to control booking availability.
How to Create Inventory
- Go to RNB → Inventory
- Click Add New Inventory
- Enter:
- Name (e.g. Baxter Camper)
- Quantity (e.g. 2 if you have two of the same camper)
- Save
Repeat for each camper type.
How Inventory Is Used
- Edit a camper product
- Go to the RNB Inventory / Availability section
- Assign the relevant inventory
- Save
The system will now:
- Allow bookings up to the defined quantity
- Block further bookings once capacity is reached
Best Practice
- Use one inventory entry per camper type
- Set the correct quantity based on your actual fleet
- Keep naming simple and consistent
- Update quantity if your fleet changes
Example
You have:
- 3 × Eureka campers
Inventory setup:
- Eureka Camper → Quantity: 3
Result:
- Two bookings can be made for the same dates
- A third booking will not be allowed
